Brian Powell, Architectural Conservator, brings more than 30 years of experience to BCA, including building archaeology, hands-on conservation treatments, teaching, and lecturing. Mr. Powell has particular expertise in historic paints, including cross-sectional analysis, pigment identification, and fluorochrome staining. Mr. Powell’s publications include “Painting Techniques: Surface Preparation and Application” from Paint in America, and “Historic Buildings and the Lead Paint Hazard”.
