The New England regional office was launched in early 1995 at the Build Boston Conference, the result of a renewed collaboration between Andrea Gilmore and Raymond Pepi, who were classmates at Columbia University where they both studied Historic Preservation with James Marston Fitch. Andrea hails from Massachusetts and has spent her entire professional career in New England at the National Park Service and the Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities (now Historic New England) before joining BCA. Andrea has built the New England office from a one-person enterprise to a full service conservation branch, located in Dedham, MA, specializing in the analysis and investigation of historic finishes. Andrea has attracted the highest caliber technical staff, including Brian Powell, who was trained by Morgan Phillips at SPNEA; Melissa McGrew, a painting conservator trained at Winterthur; and Jessica Zullinger, a Senior Project Manager with a background in New England vernacular architecture, building documentation, and preservation planning.
