The facility was designed by architect Herbert J. Krapp and built between 1925 and 1927. The theater had many different names until the 1967-68 season of The Ed Sullivan Show when it was named the Ed Sullivan Theater. Now it is known as the home of The Late Show with David Letterman. BCA was the conservation consultant during the theater's transformation to a state-of-the-art television studio for David Letterman's show.
