Bronx Zoo
Bronx, New York

Astor Court
The grand allee composed of landscaped areas, seating, fountains, gardens, pathways and buildings collectively known as Astor Court was the historic center of the Zoo. BCA led the team to restore pathways, enhance lighting, and restore building elements along the court to reactivate the court as an active pathway into the Zoo.

Lion House
The Lion House, part of the Bronx Zoo’s Astor Court, is a designated New York City historic landmark, significant for the quality of its Beaux Art neoclassical design and for its associations with zoological innovation at the turn of the 19th century. It is one of the few intact examples of City Beautiful planning in New York City.
