Three steam pumping engines are contained within the High Service Station building at the Chestnut Hill Waterworks. BCA staff and a team of ten interns restored the three steam engines during the summer of 2006. BCA continues to work with Waterworks Development LLC to adaptively reuse the Waterworks building for mixed-use space including the Hall of Machines, a public museum featuring the three historic steam pumping engines BCA restored.
