The Boston Preservation Alliance awarded the Boston City Hall Conservation Management Plan. BCA worked with OverUnder and Utile, inc. to create the Boston City Hall Conservation Management Plan. As part of the CMP, BCA developed cleaning methodologies for the interior concrete surface.

The Renaissance Hotel Harlem is open. Historically known as The Victoria Theater, BCA is the historic preservation consultant, overseeing the interior and exterior restoration of the remaining historic features of the building repurposed as a place for entertainment, hotel accommodations, and apartments.

BCA was the restoration consultant for the rehabilitation of the McKim, Mead & White former Officer’s Club (now Building 60) at Washington, DC’s Fort McNair. The building has been adaptively reused as an educational facility for the Inter-American Defense College and features a Zuber & Cie wallpaper mural that was also restored. The Design-Build team was led by Mortenson Construction with a great team of KCCT Architects, Atlantic Refinishing & Restoration, Durable Restoration, and Robinson & Associates, among others.

The Copper Development Association has selected The Cathedral of Saint John the Divine, Copper Dome Roof to receive a North American Copper in Architecture (NACIA) award. BCA oversaw the installation of the copper roof and the sounding and replacement of several deteriorated Guastvino tiles

BCA’s COO Beth Romizer-Bailly is quoted in ENR explaining why new technology such as AI and Drones can help us in assessing and maintaining historic buildings. About AI, Romizer-Bailly says, it has “great potential and could be the answer to the many challenges of conducting cyclical surveys of large buildings.”

BCA is mentioned in an article by Architectural Digest about the famous guest of the Waldorf Astoria. BCA is part of a design team for the historic hotel lead by Skidmore, Ownings, and Merrill. Archival research assisted the team to understand the original design using historic photographs and drawings, alongside forensic analysis we re-discovered the original finishes of this storied hotel, including decorative plasterwork, exotic wood and stone species, ornamental metals, historic light fixture, painted murals, and mosaic and terrazzo floors

Pier 57 restoration honored by the New York Landmarks Conservancy on April 19th, 2023. BCA developed the design concept and prepared construction documents, including design drawings and technical specifications, to make the existing landmarked stainless steel and porcelain enamel walls on the west end of the pier weather-tight. This work required the dismantling, reconstruction and restoration of the wall system
